You may know that HVAC accounts for up to 70% of a total power bill for any building.  What you may not know is there is a required design flaw that exists in almost every HVAC system in the world, including the units at your home and business.  Ask yourself if AC units lose S.E.E.R. over time.  You will most likely agree. What you may not know is why.

A.S.H.R.A.E (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers) has studied this problem for decades. A.S.H.R.A.E estimates that “oil fouling” accounts for up to 30% reduction in efficiency within the first five years of the equipments life, reducing the S.E.E.R. rating as the equipment ages.  Oil fouling is defined as the accumulation of unwanted oil deposits in the coil system.

The design flaw is simple to explain, but almost impossible to solve mechanically.  The design flaw is that the compressor is lubricated with oil and when the compressor compresses refrigerant its lubricating oil contaminates the refrigerant.  This contaminated refrigerant is then circulated throughout the equipment and coil system contaminating the metal that transfers heat.  This contaminating process is called oil fouling or oil migration by HVAC experts

Mechanically the problem of oil fouling is very difficult to prevent.  Powertron Global™ studied this problem and invented an entirely new approach to solving it.

Powertron Global's PermaFrost® eliminates the effects of oil fouling using chemistry.  PermaFrost® uses chemistry to treat the coil system's metal at the atomic level, increasing lubricity, and its volumetric heat transfer properties, whilst protecting against internal corrosion.

Powertron Global™ has a very impressive customer list with rock solid testimonials, implementation data, and the scientific testing that proves it works.  With thousands of installations and years of scientific measurement, our PermaFrost® product is proven by results.
